The King Himself

It is said that all men are dogs, cheaters, and deadbeat fathers, and that they can do no good. Yet, all our fathers, brothers, sons, and uncles seemingly have not made the list. The exclusion of brothers that are carers of their siblings, fathers that take care of their children in the absence of their mothers, sons that play the role of a nurse while their mothers are sick, men that defend the dignity of a random lady in the street, men that are dedicated to the empowerment of a girl child, the list goes on, and yet all of these men seem to be nonexistent in our talks or discussions. Don't get me wrong, in no way am I being naive to the fact that there are such men that have and continue to cause havoc in our society; however, that is a certain percentage and does not comprise of the whole male species.

We spend so much time hating on men that we deny the few or select of the good men and the honour they deserve, just like any human being. Our failure to continually disregard the goodness that exists in some men due to a number of bad, narcissistic, and deadly men continues to leave a toxic trail for the upcoming generation of men.

The strength and courage of these men, refusing to become part of the toxic and deadly crowd of men that we daily warn our sisters and girls about, has to be taken note of. I mean, life is about honouring all that is good and beautiful, and I tell you, there is nothing more beautiful than a man maintaining his position as the king he is, despite the pressures of life.

Honouring men is more than just thinking you owe them a thank you; it is an act of appreciation and gratitude for the good they do. Just like any human being, it is important that they feel appreciated and know that what they do matters. It encourages and reminds them that what they are doing is appreciated, making every sacrifice worthwhile. It fuels them to want to do more and continue to put a smile on their loved ones, despite what the world continues to throw their way. Whether received or not, their duty and responsibility still remain.

Therefore, don’t you dare allow the daily association of the rotten select to taint your beauty and greatness and make you step out of your position. Maintain your crown, king; don’t let them define you; don't let the mistakes and foolishness of your fellow men redefine who you are. Let your greatness shine; let it be known that kings still exist, and you are one of them.

You are important and of great value to our community. Your greatness lies in your ability to provide comfort and security, your ability to put on a smile, and, at the same time, to make us feel loved and taken care of. King, your time to shine is now—your time to influence—your time to empower and transform lives—your time to be part of the great change the world needs. Don’t let the world bury the greatness in you; arise, King. Take your position. You are a king.

  1. What a powerful reminder, it's true some of the kings are playing their role and we need to show them appreciation.
